Playing bingo requires concentration and listening skills, and research shows that exercising them sharpens your cognitive abilities. Bingo can help you improve your business events and training.
On a deeper level, it also boosts adrenaline and your heart rate, creating the perfect state for learning and retention.
Bingo keeps you alert, too. The military knew this, and long before commercial bingo became legal in the early 1960s, the game was allowed in the armed forces as early as the 1840s. Troops played it on troopships heading to the Boer War, in the trenches during World War I, and extensively during World War II.
Bingo is also a brilliant educational tool. In fact, we have used it as a teaching tool for over 175 years. If you have kids, you probably have a picture-based bingo game amongst their toys. There is a very good reason for that: it is a fun way to learn and reinforce knowledge.
Finally, Bingo is also the perfect equaliser because players, regardless of their education or knowledge level, have the same chance to win.
How Do You Add Bingo to Your Training Event or Conference?
First, when you are presenting a lot of new information to your attendees, you can use bingo to break up the day. Play the game just before a main session where you want to impart important information. For maximum effect, spread games throughout the day, just before your important presentations.
Using bingo this way helps you control the pace of your day. If you run detailed sessions one after another, your participants will burn out, switch off, and won’t take in the information you want to get across. Using bingo in between heavy, detailed sessions helps stop this.
Alternatively, we can work with you to create a bespoke game that explicitly reinforces the key points you want your audience to learn and remember. You get to keep and reuse your game to deepen the learning back at the office as well.
Finally, you can add games to make your day more fun. Compass Group and One Retail used bingo to break up their conference day and raise much-needed funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.
